UGANDA
Our first Uganda project was in the city of Mubende with Pastors Blasio and Pauline Senkoma. In recent years we have added 2 additional pastors to ministry there.
Seeds of Hope was one of our first outreaches in this city. Pigs and Goats were provided for 7 of the villages just prior to Covid 19 lockdown. This resource is still providing for the villages. Goats have also been given to villages as well. They provide food, housing, and school fees for these moms and children.
Since 2020 a church has been constructed, a sewing Center established and a Soccer team that has occupied the time and talents of over 200 youth. Keeping them off the streets and giving them a biblical education as well as community awareness.
Prior to the Covid Lockdown the Mubende church had about 45 people. When the lockdown was lifted that number had grown to over 200 and is still growing. People are continually coming to Jesus through the Senkoma’s and their impact on the children. Pastor Pauline and another person have started a school “Hands of Love” which is also impacting the community. Additionally, churches in the area have come to them for oversight. Pastor Blasio oversees 48 churches at last count..
The youth, adults of the church, and soccer team are changing the city. Each month they clean the streets of the city which is changing the atmosphere.
Currently we also pay for a Radio program that goes throughout Uganda sharing the gospel message Our fees for the Radio are $250 per month.
In the Slums of Kampala Majestic Grace has partnered with Pastor Clovis Kuhl raising funds to give “ mama kits” to the pregnant women. These are needed in order to be admitted to the hospital for delivery. Without these kits women are turned away and not allowed to deliver their child in a safe environment. A mama kit runs $7 each and mosquito nets run $7 each. Reaching out and finding better sources we have found a company that will provide both mama kits and mosquito nets for $8.50 each set.
We are currently working with Pastor Clovis to construct a church building that will also be used as a vocational training center.
We are also working with the Amunyet Foundation in another slum neighborhood of Kampala. It has been established to rescue young men and women from prostitution. Pastor Christine Amunyet has such a passion for these young people as she herself was rescued from this life.
Our goal is to help her purchase land and build a center to house and train in new occupations. The land she has found will cost $5000. School fees for the children are $55 per month. Pastor Christine has led many to Jesus. However, most are not willing to leave their life of prostitution out of fear they will not be able to survive.. They begin their walk with the Lord but when they are unable to meet their needs they return to the only thing they know.. It is a difficult cycle to get free from. Fear of lack is a powerful enemy. Majestic Grace desires to help provide a road out of this lifestyle and a track for discipleship for these people.
She has started a new ministry giving hope to those suffering with aids. She shares the gospel with them in the hospitals. Those suffering from aids are both children and adults.
Lives are being changed. One girl was living on the streets as a prostitute so she could pay her college tuition. Christine took her into her home and helped her complete her education. She is now an established teacher with a new life. Another family that was living on the streets found shelter in the church and is establishing a new life.
This is the tip of the iceberg as we await finances to have the resources to give these folks a place to launch their new life.
Currently we are working to establish Majestic Grace Foundation Uganda. We are just waiting for the final approval and all the requirements have been submitted.
The foundation will allow us to apply for grants and government funding. With a desire to establish training centers and agriculture businesses. So many needs can be addressed with education and job opportunities.
SCHOOL FEES
Most of our countries require parents to cover the school fees for their children. Many are not able to attend. We have found that $55per month covers most of the costs to care for a child including their primary education. There are currently 180 children that we do our best to support. There are so many more reaching out to us. Micro businesses are one of our greatest solutions to this ongoing need.
MAMA KITS
An outreach in the slums of Kampala and Kasese Uganda. Pregnant women are not allowed to have their babies in the hospital (a safe environment) unless they bring a mama kit (all the supplies that the doctor needs to deliver the child). Starting at $7 per kit we were able through connections to find a supplier at $5 per kit. Hundreds of women have walked several miles to obtain a kit when they hear that we are giving them away free and with the salvation message many have received Christ.
